For this retrofit, ERMCO removed old neon technology and replaced the recessed cove lighting with LED rope lighting. Due to the age of the existing neon, it was very costly to repair and update new components as they went bad that were simply no longer in use. The LED rope light uses 75% less energy than the neon, giving off 40 more footcandles and will last for over 50,000 hours.
