This project included replacing existing High pressure sodium and metal halide fixtures with new gasketed weather and water proof T5 fixtures with mounted occupancy sensors.
In the lower levels of the waste water treatment facility, there were two problems to tackle. First, many lights are left on when no one is present. One reason they leave them on is Sodium Bisulfite, which is used to treat wastewater, will corrode metal components not meant for the area. By eliminating existing outdated fixtures in favor of fixtures that are sealed tight enough to keep baby powder out and operate with an occupancy sensor, we have solve the problems that have been facing the customer for some time.
Currently, ERMCO has completed the Pump Room, South Tunnel and Geodesic Separator Domes. These projects have been completed with incentives available through IPL's lighting incentive program.

JP Morgan Chase
For this retrofit, ERMCO removed old neon technology and replaced the recessed cove lighting with LED rope lighting. Due to the age of the existing neon, it was very costly to repair and update new components as they went bad that were simply no longer in use. The LED rope light uses 75% less energy than the neon, giving off 40 more footcandles and will last for over 50,000 hours. -
ERMCO Service Center
ERMCO equipped our own service center warehouse with new 6lamp T5 high bay fixtures with occupancy sensors in place of existing 1000W metal halide fixtures. The existing 70W MH wallpacks over the exterior doors were replaced with 10W LED wall mounted fixtures.
Since most of the service center is occupied for brief periods at a time, approximately 80% of the overhead lights are turned off during the day (when the occupancy sensors detect no one in the space) resulting in tremendous energy savings. -
Dick's Distribution Center, Plainfield, IN
ERMCO completed an entire retrofit of existing 1000W and 400W Metal Halide fixtures with new T5 high bay fixtures with fixture-mounted occupancy sensors and lower level single lamp fixtures where outdated T12 fixtures had been. The project, which reduced the lighting load by 48%, was coordinated with Dick's Corporate Office with both increased energy savings and environmental consciousness in mind.
ERMCO partnered with Ray's trash to recycle all lamps, ballasts and housings at no cost to the owner. -
AUL Parking Garage
ERMCO completed a retrofit of existing High pressure sodium fixtures to new T5 fluorescent fixtures both reducing the energy consumption by 45% and increasing CRI (Color Rendering Index)by 55%

IBEW Local #481
ERMCO Green Energy Group recently completed an energy audit of the IBEW Local #481 building located at 1828 N. Meridian St. in downtown Indianapolis. Upon completion of the energy audit, a U.S. Department of Energy's EnergyStar Rating was produced for the building and an ASHRAE Level 2 Analysis was compiled to describe and illustrate options for improving both energy efficiency and cost savings for IBEW Local #481. -
Ronald McDonald House
ERMCO will complete an entire facility lighting system retrofit starting in March 2010 and will benchmark the entire RMH campus through the EnergyStar rating system.

Jones Lang LaSalle Managed Parking Garage
This project involves a complete lighting retrofit within existing parking structure managed by Jones Lang LaSalle ERMCO employees worked second shift to avoid disturbance of traffic within the parking garage and a March 2010 completion date is expected. -
J. Solotken
J. Solotken & Company, Inc. recently purchased an existing 123, 500 sq. ft. warehouse/office building on English Avenue. ERMCO completed work on this renovated space which resulted in lowering the buildings’ lighting energy use from 110 kW to 33 kW, while maintaining the same or improved foot candles and CRI. The work also involved complete building lighting controls and occupancy sensors. Also, in a joint effort with IPL to improve poor power factor (an estimated .50), ERMCO changed the service entrance to this facility by replacing an outdated over-head 1000A/480V Delta ungrounded service with a pad-mounted, underground 800 A/277~480 Wye service. This project was completed in late 2009. -
IndyGo
In February 2009, IndyGO was granted 9 million dollars from the Federal Transportation Administration (FTA) for building improvements at the Indianapolis Corporate facility. These funds were a result of the Federal Economic Stimulus Package. ERMCO’s work in the facility will include power feed replacement of existing rooftop units and 20 new RTU’s supplying 40 tons of AC, installing new HVAC controls, installing replacement light fixtures illuminating 300,000 sq. ft. and installing additional building automation and new lighting controls. The project will be complete by July of 2010.
